Wisdom Divine (continued ...)
Raja, an 'Uttam Adhikari', a deserving soul of the compassion of
the Great Guru, fell at His holy feet and went into a rapturous
trance.
|
In His characteristic simplicity, Sri Guru Nanak Sahib advises the Raja how to remain uncontaminated in the midst of all worldly contamination, how to remain detached in the midst of all worldly attachments, and how to remain totally free in the midst of all worldly bondages. Having surrendered the 'I'ness and 'My'ness at the lotus feet of Satguru, the Satguru is the Sole doer, the Karta. All worries and burdens connected with the Self are passed on to the holy feet of Satguru. Consequently one travels lightly and without any burden through the journey of life. One belongs to the supreme care taker. What a singular relief for a spiritual aspirant?
Dharam Rai Dar Kagad Pharey |
||
Sri Guru Granth Sahib (698)
Dharam Rai has torn up the whole account (record) of those who have totally surrendered at the feet of the Lord. |
Dharam Rai Ab Kiya Karaigo |
||
Sri Guru Granth Sahib (614)
What can Dharam Raj do now when all my account has already been torn (in the service and holy company of true saints). |
Sri Guru Nanak Sahib incarnated in this Dark Age as the Supreme Physician - Doctor of this terrible ailment, disease and malady of 'I' ego.
Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj |
Having rid the Raja of his 'I' ego, Sri Guru Nanak Sahib bestowed freedom
on him from all bonds which can bind, which cause the continuity of the
cycle of transmigration.
Sadhey Dhhain Vich Deri Hai Guru Nanak De Bakhsan Vich Koi Deri Nahin |
||
Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj
There is delay on our part in falling head long (surrendering) at the Lotus Feet of Sri Guru Nanak Sahib, but there is no delay in Great Guru Nanak accepting and saving us. This is a wonderful and great assurance given by Mahan Babaji. |
As we drop at the holy feet of the Satguru in all our humility and become his, all our previous accounts held by Dharam Raj are torn, all the previous sins wiped out. The heart stands purified and illumined with the Grace of the Satguru, and a totally fresh and new holy and pure chapter of life starts thereafter. With face turned towards the source of all lights, all darkness of previous lives is left behind like non-existent shadow.
The knowledge of false identification of the 'I' ego with name, form (body), possessions and 'I'ego's false sense of independent identity and existence of the self dawned on the deserving Raja.
Haumain Bujhey Taan Dar Sujhey |
||
Sri Guru Granth Sahib (466)
The mechanisations of this dreadful 'I' ego have to be properly understood with a penetrating processs of self-inquiry and analysis to cross the mire of delusion and be in a position to behold the holy entrance to Lord's mansion. |
With 'I' the doer of all Karmas, surrendered at the holy feet of Satguru, it ('I') becomes non-existent and unfettered by any Karmas. One is liberated. 'I' as the doer is the sole binder and when 'I' is non-existent, there is no one to bear the fruits of any past or present Karmas. One is free.
Jaih Prani Haumain Taji Karta Ram Pachhan |
||
Sri Guru Granth Sahib (1427)
Guru Nanak the Ninth says -
“One who vanquishes his ego and beholds the Lord as the Sole Doer of all activity, that person has attained jivan mukti (is liberated while living), know this as a real truth, says Nanak.” |
Jivanmukta has risen far above the consciousness of doership, 'Ek Onkar
Satnam Kartapurkh' for him the Lord is the Sole Doer, the Sole Karta.
His 'I'ego is non-existent and hence his total non-involvement in any
Karma. He is completely free. He has attained mukti in his very life.
He is Jivanmukt.
In the state of Jivanmukti, there is no sense of doership; the sole doer
or Karta is the Lord, there is no individual will; only the will of the
Lord prevails, There is no 'I'ness and 'My'ness; it is all 'Thou' and
'Thy'ness.
A jivanmukt has actually died before his death. It is a death of the 'I'ego,
it is a death of separate individuality and identity, it is a death of
the individual will, it is a death of 'I'ness and 'My'ness.
The impact of each word of Sri Guru Nanak Sahib was simple, direct and
most penetrating.
Each word and hymn uttered by humility personified Sri Guru Nanak Sahib
had a unique and wonderful effect. It directly hit with deadly effect,
the ego centre, the worst enemy and a disease of entire humanity. His
mere presence would swallow, reduce to ashes the ego of Great Sidhas,
Pirs and Faqirs and thus enable them to understand the deep rooted meaning
of higher Reality.
