Grace Divine - 2
t was on 28 Oct 1989, Sacred Birth anniversary of Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj was being celebrated in our House No 203, Sector 33A, Chandigarh. While I was engaged in the Holy Service of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, I read the Hukamnama couple of times and then with the help of Steek Sahib tried to understand the meaning thereof. A Holy Whisper came from Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj as follows:
Guru Noon Parhan Di Koshish Kar Rahian Hain.
Guru Noon Samjhan Di Koshish Kar Rahian Hain.
Koi Guru Noon Parh Sakda Hai?
Koi Guru Noon Samjh Sakda Hai?
Guru Noon Taan Guru Ne Bhi Parhan Te Samjhan Di Koshish Nahin Keeti.
He then further advised:
Nimrata Saroop Guru Nanak loves Nimrata and humility the most. He leads the humble by the hand to the attainment of the Highest Bliss.
In a heart blessed with humility Satguru’s Grace is at work as compared to the futile egoistic impulses and endeavour of a proud aspirant.
The surrender of the ego, the ‘I’ at the Lotus Feet of the Satguru liberates the soul from all bondages of the world. Then ensues a wonderful divine relationship. It attracts Satguru’s Grace which surpasses the brilliance of thousands of Suns and Moons and which transcends the glory of the whole universe.
In this unique surrender a miraculous transformation takes place. It is total conversion of human love into Love-Divine, a total conversion of earthly life into Life-Divine.
Without placing the ‘I’ ego at the Lotus Feet of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, it is well nigh impossible to understand the Divine Mystery lying hidden in the great mystic revelations.
Dedicate your ‘I’ ness and ‘My’ ness to Sri Guru Granth Sahib and then sail in the ship of Holy ‘Thou’ the Lord. Move, act and live in Divine Grace. Satguru’s Grace becomes the sole strength, the sole support, the sole sustenance of a true lover of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
Sadh Sangat Ji, I humbly submit, This Wisdom of Wisdoms and the Light of Lights, cannot be grasped by deluded intellect. Eternal Glory of the Eternal Guru is hidden from the superficial eye, it is veiled from deluded perception. It can only be grasped by direct Grace of Lord Guru Nanak.
After having grasped the wondrous revelations, the hidden glory, there is nothing in this world that remains to be known or seen.
Let us cast off our ‘I’ at the Lotus Feet of Guru Nanak and become the dust of His Holy Feet. Having merged in the holy dust, without a trace of ‘I’ Self and Ego, approach our beloved Satguru, ‘Pargat Guran Ki Deh, Sri Guru Granth Sahib’.
Bhai Vich Chale Lakh Dariaao

Bhai Vich Aave Jaave Pur Saglia
Bhau Likhia Sir Lekh
Nanak Nirbhau Nirankar Sach Ek
In fear of the Lord fire labouriously performs many tasks
In fear of the Lord the earth is trampled under burden
In fear of the Lord clouds roam about headlong
In fear of the Lord Dharam Raj stands at His door
In fear of the Lord is the sun and in fear of the Lord is the moon
And traverse millions of miles with no end
In fear of the Lord stand Sidhas, Budhas, the gods and yogis
In fear of the Lord are scattered the skies
In fear of the Lord stand the mighty warriors and heroes
In fear of the Lord multitudes come and go
Writ of fear stands recorded on every head
Only the Lord is free from fear
I only later learnt that Babaji never permitted anyone to touch His feet.
This event became the mainstay of my life, my sustenance and anchor.
He departed from His principles because of His unlimited Grace and Mercy upon me. He was to soon depart physically from this earthly World and He did not want to deprive me of His Mercy and compassion, Babaji was omniscient and Antarjami and He had gone out of the way to satisfy, to meet a yearning prayer from my heart.
When I had finished with my homage I looked up. I still remember with utmost gratitude of my whole life that fathomless look of Grace, Love and Mercy in His Holy Eyes cast on me then.
When I looked up I found His lotus eyes focussed and riveted on mine and from those holy eyes ensued forth torrents of Grace overwhelming me completely with spiritual delight which I cannot describe in words. I can only say that soul stirring and wonderous gaze of Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj filled me with Grace and Bliss which continues to still envelop me even after a lapse of forty eight years. If I continue to feel enveloped and surcharged with spirituality I owe it in all humility and gratitude to that wonderous gaze still holding me fast in its holy folds.
